Wednesday UCL Roundup: Haaland Dazzles As Man City Lash FC Copenhagen, Chelsea Humble AC Milan, Dortmund Thump Sevilla, Madrid Edge Shakhtar & More

GROUP E

Chelsea hit three passed Italian giants AC Milan to earn their first win in three games. Wesley Fofana shot the Premier League side into the lead from close range to open his account for his new club before being taken off following an injury scare. 

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Reece James netted a goal each in the second to ensure Chelsea bagged all the three points at stake. 

FC Salzburg edged Dinamo Zagreb by a narrow win. Noah Okafor scored from the spot in the 71st minute to seal the win for Salzburg. They lead group E with five points, just one point above second placed Chelsea. 

GROUP F

Holders Real Madrid defeated Shakhtar Donetsk 2-1 at the Bernabeu to make it three of three. 

Brazilian duo Rodrygo and Vinicius Jr struck one apiece before the half hour mark while Oleksandr Zubkof got the consolation goal for the visitors. Shakhtar are behind Madrid with four points. 

Having lost both their first two games, RB Leipzig romped up a 3-1 victory over Celtic to earn their first win in the competition. 

Christopher Nkunku drew first blood before Pedro Jota leveled after the restart. But Andre Silva hit a brace midway through the second half to seal a resounding victory for the Bundesliga side.

GROUP G

Manchester City raced to a 5-0 victory over FC Copenhagen at the Etihad Stadium. 

The Citizens were ruthless en rout to the big win battering the visitors from start to finish. Haaland needed only the first 45 minutes to net a brace before being replaced by Cole Palmer at half time. 

Khocholava scored an own goal while Pep Guadiola’s men added another two in the second half through Riyad Mahrez’ spot kick and Julian Alvarez’s 76th minute strike. Their perfect start in the group is well on course following the win. 

Sevilla endured a torrid evening at home as Dortmund went on the rampage at the Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan. Raphael Guerreiro gave Dortmund an early lead before Jude Bellingham and Karim Adeyemi adding the second and third before half time. 

Julian Brandt clocked up the fourth to seal an emphatic win the Black and Yellows. 

GROUP H

Benfica held star studded Paris Saint-Germain to a 1-1 draw at the Estadio da Luz but both goals were scored by the Ligue 1 side. 

Lionel Messi’s 22nd minute strike was canceled out by Danilo Pereira’s own goal in the dying embers of the first half. Christophe Galtier’s men failed to convert any of the numerous chances they created in the second half as the game ended in a stalemate. 

The two teams are locked at the top with same points (7) and goal difference (3).

Elsewhere in Turin Juventus won their first game in the group with a 3-1 win against Maccabi Haifa. 

A brace from Adrien Rabiot and one from Dusan Vlahovic made sure the Serie A side are back in winning ways. Din David got one back for Maccabi.
