Professor John Evans Atta Mills’s brother, Samuel, has claimed that the former President’s tomb had been tampered with.
Atta Mills Institute executive director Koku Anyidoho and the Coastal Development Authority have been accused of tampering with the tomb by him.
A gang claiming to be the Atta Mills Institute and the Coastal Development Authority went to breach the grave of President John Evans Atta Mills.
On Tuesday, July 19, at a news conference in Parliament, Member of Parliament for Komenda-Edina-Eguafo Abirem said, “They have dismantled the tomb and say that they are reconstructing it.”
Then he went on, “My question is, we have a family custom. Is the corpse still in the grave after they’ve made contact with it? Do you know who’s dead? Why are you going to handle the corpse without alerting the leader of the family? Who is in charge here?
There must be a better explanation for why they want us to suffer.” It’s hard to understand why the administration would allow this to happen when this is a former president. “This is a slap in the face of our country and our families.”
Professor John Evans Atta Mills was laid to rest at the Asomdwee Park around ten years ago.
