Kwamena Duncan, a former Central Regional Minister, is unhappy with the way Speaker Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin dressed to Parliament on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 when the House resumed proceedings.
Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin dressed like a King as he arrayed himself in golden regalia over African cloth.
Although the Speaker has won the hearts of many Ghanaians who see his dressing reflective of the Ghanaian rich culture, Kwamena Duncan is the least enthused about how Rt. Hon. Bagbin portrayed himself.
According to him, the Speaker shouldn’t have worn a crown in the House as, to him, it breached culture.
”I agree that we must promote our culture, but he is a linguist and a linguist doesn’t wear a crown. I’ve never seen a linguist anywhere with a crown and big copper chains that could weigh about 50 kilograms on the scale. So, whilst we endorse promotion of our culture, it must be promoted in the right way,” he told Nana Yaw Kesseh on Peace FM’s ”Kokrokoo”.
