WHY DID YOU SEND GUN TO EC’s OFFICE?… NPP QUESTIONS NAA KORYOO

The New Patriotic Party in the Awutu Senya East has questioned the rationale behind Naa Koryoo’s presence with gun at the EC’s office in Kasoa during the ongoing vote transfer exercise.

The Campaign Manager for Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson, Mr. Emmanuel Afram Anim in an interview on Obaatanpa Radio cited that, it’s very strange for anyone of genuine intention to appear at a crime scene with a pump action gun to campaign for peace.

The NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Awutu Senya East, Phillis Naa Koryoo Okunnor was arrested on 2nd June 2024 for illegal possession of fire arms at the Kasoa EC’s office.

This was barely two hours after there was misunderstanding between NPP and NDC which led to the stabbing of Ato Koomson who is the son of the incumbent MP Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson.

Naa Koryoo in an interview on Onua TV explained that while in a security brief meeting with the police, NPP thugs surrounded her vehicle threatening to stab her driver and bodyguard. The thugs then search through her car where they brought of her registered pump action gun with four ammunitions.

However, in a quick response on Obaatanpa Radio, the Campaign Manager for Hawa, Mr. Anim refuted Naa Koryoo’s claim. He explained that the police after the Sunday incident mounted a check point on the road leading to the EC’s office so when Naa Koryoo got to the Police check point, it was through the police intelligence that led them to discover that Naa Koryoo was transporting Pump action to the Centre.

She was subsequently arrested and cautioned.

Mr. Anim is therefore calling on NDC and Naa Koryoo to desist from propaganda.
