Young talents keep me on my toes – Sarkodie

Multiple award-winning rapper Sarkodie has disclosed that the young talents in the music industry cushion him to give his best.

Rapper Sarkodie has been in the music space for over a decade and has been very consistent in the music industry. According to him, one of the things that have kept him on his toes is the energy the young talents fuse in the industry.

Sarkodie made this disclosure during an interview on British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Radio 1Xtra’s Afrobeats Concerto in collaboration with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.

Eddie Kadi, host of Black music and culture engaged Sarkodie in a conversation about his impression of the young talents that have risen in the music industry in and around the country.

“It puts me on my toes,” he revealed, adding “and at the same time I have hope that what we built is going to be protected and it’s going to be there for a minute. So I am super proud to see all these superstars, I know that even when I retire, Afrobeats is going to be alive.

So big shouts to [all], especially the superstars coming out from my hometown GH [alias] Ghana.” He drew robust applause from the cosmopolitan audience. “I love Afrobeats. Afrobeats is the biggest genre out there right now.”
