Social media over a decade is said to have become part of human lifestyle since over 90% of people visit the social media whether for positive or negative activities.
Social media has now become source of information for some people across the world , social media platforms which includes Whatsapp, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook amongst others for their personal business.
Research indicates that, some Ghanaians especially the youth have over a decade now abused the usage of social media such as cyber crime , blackmailing, and other unlawful activities are ongoing on the social media.
For this reason, the Founder and Chancellor of Abbeam Institute of Technology, Rev. Dr. Abbeam Ampomah Danso has cautioned Ghanaians youth to run away from the negative usage of social media and rather use it positively for business purposes.
According to the Chancellor who doubles as the Nkosorhene of Ngleshi Amanfrom Traditional Area, people negetively use social media to tarnish the image of others, to fraud people which is worrying.
Rev. Dr. Abbeam Ampomah Danso made this pronouncement to Obaatanpa News Mireku Nyampong during his keynote address to 2022 Matriculation ceremony of Abbeam Institute of Technology hinted that, the youth should adopt the positive side of social media to move our country forward.
Mr. Prince Benny-wood, the Director of Abbeam Institute of Technology has also called on brilliant but needy student to come on board since Abeam Institute of Technology has a scholarship parkage for them.
Lastly, the the Vice President of the Student Representative Council, Mary Magdalene Dakpo-Wodadze has also assured the entire students of Abbeam Institute of Technology of their welfare and safety.
