Man drowns in Mim river, body retrieved after 3 days

The lifeless body of a man believed to be around age 31 has been retrieved by residents in Mim in the Asunafo North Municipality of the Ahafo region.

The body of the man whose name been given as Mr. Kwaku Gyimah, popularly known as K2 was found floating in the Ahumasu River, a popular river in the community.

According to a resident who gave his name as Bright and spoke with this portal, K2, as he is popularly known in the area was spotted heading towards the riverside on Monday evening by a young man who was returning from the farm at that hour.

He continued that the chief of the community was informed, and a search party was organized by the youth about the possible drowning of Gyimah.

Explaining further, Bright indicated that the services of fetish priests in the area were consulted when the search party yielded no results.

After rituals and various rites were performed for three consecutive days, the lifeless body of Kwaku Gyimah came afloat for retrieval.

No clear reason has been given behind the drowning of Gyimah, but residents say it is the second time a situation like this has happened in the community. They explain that the first incident which happened some 3 weeks earlier involved a 57-year-old man known as Charles Nti.
