The Central Regional Minister, Hon. Justina Marigold Assan has assured the family of the late Ishmael, the 10 year old boy who was gruesomely murdered by two teenagers Felix Nyarko, 15 and Nicholas Kini, 18 at Great Lamptey Mills, a community in Ga South Municipal Greater Accra region of government’s commitment in ensure that justice is served to the family.
She made the call when she paid a courtesy call in the company of the Central Regional Police Commander, DCOP Habiba Twumasi Sarpong and the Municipal Chief Executive of Awutu Senya East, Hon. Michael Essuman Mensah to the family of the deceased.
According to the minister, the unfortunate incident is a dent on the image of Kasoa, and Ghana as a whole hence the need to push the judicial system to work on the case immediately for justice to prevail.
The family spokesperson, Sammed Alalihu has requested for the body of the late Ishmael to be released to the family for burial according to Islamic customs.
Hon. Michael Essuman Mensah has however criticized the media for giving wrong reportage on the place of the incident.
According to the Honourable MCE, the incident occurred at a community in the Ga South Municipal, and not necessarily in Kasoa as has been widely reported by the media.
