Kwame Baffoe, also known as Abronye DC in political circles, has retained his position as the Bono Region Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He was re-elected with 173 votes, defeating Konlaabig Rasheed [incumbent Regional Organiser], who received 84 of the votes cast.
263 delegates were expected to vote, with 26 aspirants (23 men and three women) competing for ten positions in the exercise scheduled for Sunday, May 29, 2022.
Earlier, the election was halted for nearly an hour after confusion erupted when three allegedly injuncted constituencies were called out to vote.
The Sunyani High Court barred executives from the Sunyani East, Dormaa Central, and Jaman constituencies from participating in the elections.
Some members of the party in the three constituencies obtained the injunction over what they called improper methods of electing the executives.
Bono is the final region to have held elections, leaving Central as the only region where elections have been suspended indefinitely due to a court action.
