It is emerging that some top figures of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) met leaders and organizers of FixTheCountry at a secret location at midnight for a discussion.
The meeting which was convened at the instance of the NDC was to map out a strategy on how NDC could support the FixTheCountry Movement to succeed in making the Akufo-Addo government unpopular..
This was revealed by Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah who was a participant in the meeting along with Broadcast journalist Godsbrain Smart popularly known as Captain Smart.
Details of the leaders who met the FixTheCountry convenors from the NDC was not given but the meeting was said to have taken place at 1am at an unknown location in Accra.
Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah revealed the two sides failed to agree on a common position before the meeting ended.
Some key leaders of the group have since left following disagreements.
According to its website, #FixTheCountry Movement, is a “non-partisan and non-political” civic movement by Ghanaian youths for Ghana.
It says the group is “mobilizing thousands of people to build a better Ghana where no person will have to lack their basic rights as a Ghanaian.”
The website says further: “At FixTheCountry, We believe that the power to change the Ghana is in us all, we also believe that when everyone speaks out the problem of society and action together, the Ghana will become a better place. So we’re in here with a simple and clear mission, building a powerful platform for the change, helping people in Ghana and other Africans to raise their voices, collecting signatures and contribute to Ghana and the rest of Africa.”
