The Inspector-General of Police, COP Akufo Dampare and top police officials have toured Central East Police Command to familiarize themselves with the new region per the Police Span of Control
As part of the tour, IGP Akufo Dampare visited the family of the 9-year-old boy Micheal Darko who was shot dead during rituals performance by Chief Priest of Awutu Bereku at the Awutu Awubia festival
He also visited the 13-year-old girl who was defiled and shot in her right hand by the Fulani gang at Gomoa Adzintem in the Central Region
He further visited the Chief and Elders of Gomoa Nyanyano, Awutu Traditional Council, Gomoa Ojobi, Gomoa Fetteh
The Chief of Gomoa Fetteh, Nana Abore Atta pledged to support the Ghana Police service to maintain peace in the area.
He also thanked the police administration for their support to demolish the Liberia camp that has been a hideout for criminals.
The Omankrado of Gomoa Fetteh, Nana Quasi Kwansah (I) appealed to the new Acting IGP to deploy more men to their area to help stop arm robbers from attacking market women in the Senya- Akoti road.
The tour is expected to end tomorrow morning.
