19-year-old notorious armed robber Emmanuel Addae popularly known as Kofi Yesu has been sentenced to 20 years imprisonment by the Cape Coast Circuit Court presided over by Her Honour Mrs Dorinda Smith Arthur on Thursday Morning.
Emmanuel Addae has been terrorising the lives of the people of Assin Fosu Habitat for many years
His sentence follows a robbery attack he mounted on a 21 years old woman Irene Agyapong whom the convict butchered her face through to her nose and upper lips with a machete rendered in removing her teeth and made away with her belongings which include mobile phones, money etc.
The incident happened around 7 pm in May 2021, after the lady had closed from work.
The prosecuting officer, Chief Inspector Gilbert Ayongo said the convict, Kofi Yesu uses weapons such as a machete and other offensive weapons to attack unsuspecting victims.
The Prosecuting Officer disclosed in an interview with Obaatanpa radio reporter Kweku Darko
Chief Inspector Gilbert Ayongo said the sentence will be a deterrent to other young men who engage in criminal activities.
It will be recalled that reported in May 2021 that Residents of Assin Fosu New Habitat are living in intense fear following a series of robbery attacks on residents of which a young woman was butchered on the face by there and then robbers after they robbed her.
The said lady was admitted to St. Francis Xavier Hospital in Assin Fosu. Currently, the lady has been discharged with a deformity.
