The Ministry of Youth and Sports has announced that approval is now granted for football fans to return to various league centers to watch live local and international matches, subject to national Covid-19 safety protocol, and GFA matchday Covid-19 protocols.
In a press statement released on Friday and signed by its Public Relations Officer, Mr. Kenneth Annang, the Ministry stated that 25% of football fans can return to league centers to watch live matches with immediate effect.
According to the Ministry, the decision comes at the back of several deliberations and engagements it has had with the Ghana Football Association, the National Covid-19 Taskforce, and other stakeholders in the football fraternity to arrive at the decision.
In the statement, the Ministry of Youth and Sports has directed the country’s football governing body to put Covid-19 preventive and safety measures such as wearing of nose masks, social distancing, and other preventive measures in place, and also sanction offenders of the protocols in accordance with GFA Matchday Covid-19 protocols.
“The public is hereby advised to disciplined at all times as we continue to work together to fight Covid-19”, it concluded.
