Photos: Hawa Koomson hands over house to accident victim

The Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East constituency and Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson has handed over a newly built self-contain house to one Mr. Atsu Agbalanyor, a member of New Patriotic Party (NPP) who got electrocuted during the 2020 electioneering campaign.

Atsu, as he is widely known in the constituency nearly lost his life when a mental rod on which he was mounting a party flag came into direct contact with the high voltage system during the 2020 electioneering campaign at Kasoa.

Expressing his delight for the gesture, Mr Agbalanyor was grateful to the minister for not abandoning him to his fate when the incident happened, but has been a constant support to him and his family.

“Ever since information reached you that this is the kind of accident I have been involved in, you have been a constant help for me and my family. You took care of all the medical bills, and you have present me with this beautiful house; I can’t thank you enough” the teary Atsu remarked.

Speaking to obaatanparadioonline.com, the mother of Atsu, who has since been taking care of him expressed gratitude for the minister’s gesture; saying that what the MP has done for her son is beyond human comprehension.

Hon Mavis Hawa Koomson said, she was devastated when she heard the plight and ordeal of the young man hence the need to build a house for him as a way of showing appreciation to him for his commitment to the party.

The MP, Hon. Hawa Koomson has pledged her continued support to the family, and by extension, to the whole constituency.
