“The National Cathedral isn’t a misplaced priority, It’s not a priority in the first place” – Manasseh Azure

According to the Chief Editor of The Fourth Estate, an online news platform located in Ghana, Manasseh Azure Awuni, the contentious National Cathedral project is meaningless.

In the context of the present economic difficulties, his detractors have said that the National Cathedral is a “misplaced priority.”

The investigative journalist made this observation in a post that was published on Friday, June 24, 2022, and it was seen by Modernghana News. He said that the National Cathedral did not meet the criteria to be considered a priority in the first place.

There is no such thing as a “misplaced priority” when it comes to the National Cathedral. According to what his post says, “it’s not a priority in the first place.”

Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, a member of parliament for the North Tongu constituency and a ranking member on the parliamentary select committee on foreign affairs, is yet another outspoken opponent of the project.

According to Mr. Ablakwa, the government has already invested GHS200 of Ghanaian taxpayers’ money in the project, despite having assured Ghanaians that it was going to be financed with public funds.

Mr. Ablakwa continued by stating that despite the fact that all of this money is being put into the project, there is no work being done on site.
