Visa Fraudster Arrested For Defrauding His Clients Over 1.6 Billion At Agona Swedru

Agona Swedru Police Command has arrested a 40-year-old man Benjamin Otabil for allegedly defrauding over 30 people in an attempt to send them abroad in a total of Ghc160,000. ( 1.6 billion) old cedis.

According to information gathered, the man claimed to be an agent at Agona Swedru and has shown false evidence of people he has sent abroad.

In an interview with Obaatanpa News reporter, Mireku Nyampong, leader of the group Diana Akomea revealed that the man has taken a very huge sum of money from them to send them to places like Spain, Dubai, Ireland among others.

She also added that some of these victims were coming from very far places like Techiman, Tema, Takoradi, Berekum, and have been in a guest house in Swedru for days.

She said, the fraudster was able to convince some people from Dubai all the way to Ghana for their Visa but later they found out it was false.

Meanwhile, some of the affected people called on the IGP to come to their aid because their trust in Agona Swedru police is in limbo.
